When you start to breastfeed, there is a lot to think about! Maternity and breastfeeding sleep bras may not be at the top of your list... but they are important!

Wearing a sleep maternity bra is also a popular choice for pregnant women, who like to feel supported and comfortable overnight, especially as your breasts grow and change.

Our maternity and nursing sleep bras are wirefree and clip-free so you don’t have to fiddle with any clips while trying to breastfeeding at night.

They come with soft, breathable padding which feels great against sore nipples.  The sleep bras feature wide shoulder straps that don’t dig in to your shoulders.

Designed here in NZ, our maternity and breastfeeding sleep bras are made so every mamma can feel great and sleep comfortable all night long.

FAQs on Pregnancy and Breastfeeding Sleep Bras

What is a sleep nursing bra?

Maternity and breastfeeding sleep bras are specially designed with no hooks, wires and clips to ensure a good night's sleep. With soft cups that pull aside easily for breastfeeding access, you don’t have to fiddle with any clips at night.

Why should you wear a bra to sleep while pregnant?

During pregnancy your breasts change- they start growing bigger and may get sore, tender and sensitive which can be uncomfortable at night. Sleep bras help alleviate the discomfort as they are super soft, stretchy and don't come with any wires, clips, and thin straps that dig into your skin.

Should you wear a bra to sleep while breastfeeding?

If you sleep in a breastfeeding bra that is too tight, you risk compressing your milk ducts, causing them to get blocked and swollen. This can lead to mastitis - and trust us, this is something you want to avoid as much as possible.

When baby is born and your milk starts to come in, you may quickly find yourself looking for a sleep nursing bra to give you support overnight, and to keep breastpads in place (yup... leaking is a thing!) It's important to find a nursing bra that is safe for sleeping. And by that we mean, a breastfeeding sleep bra that is soft, comfortable, wire-free, and that won't dig in like our popular Marle + Lace Bras.

Does wearing a bra to bed decrease milk supply?

Yes if it is too tight for you. Tight bras can block your milk ducts which can put you at risk of mastitis and affect your milk supply. This is why nursing sleep bras are popular amongs mums, as they keep you comfy while you sleep while supporting your breasts.

How many sleeping nursing bras do I need?

We recommend investing in two to three of these go-to nursing sleep bras, so that you can have one to wear, one in the wash, and one in the clean washing pile! Our sleep bras come in sets of three - in pain black or multicolour.
